Introducing PeerClip™ – Information and Insight
for Physicians the Way It Should Be
Next generation online tool from ConnectivHealth allows physicians
to organize, share, discuss and discover relevant medical information
NASHVILLE, Tenn., September 20, 2007— PeerClip, the new
online bookmarking tool and community for physicians, debuted today
at the Health 2.0 conference for health care Internet leaders in
San Francisco. PeerClip combines the two preferred ways physicians
gain knowledge—reading medical literature and interacting
with peers—into a powerful online tool. Using PeerClip, physicians
can store their favorite articles, blogs, podcasts and videos in
one convenient online location for easy access to the medical information
they deem most relevant.
“With medical information on the Web growing at such a rapid
pace, physicians need a platform to help them organize content
and exchange ideas,” said Scott McQuigg, CEO of ConnectivHealth,
parent company of PeerClip. “PeerClip is an easy-to-use online
tool that enables physicians to bookmark relevant content, tap
into peer perspectives and discover other resources from within
their community of peers.”
PeerClip, a free service exclusively for physicians, physician
assistants and nurse practitioners, allows members to add information
from anywhere on the Web directly into PeerClip through a “research
assistant” tool that subtly integrates in to the physician’s
Web browser. As physicians add medical information to their PeerClip
home page, they are provided at-a-glance information on any peer
comments, ratings and keyword tags. Physicians also can add peers
who have valuable perspectives into their network and track future
comments and bookmarks from these members.
PeerClip’s other key feature is its ability to recommend
other relevant content to each member. Essentially, PeerClip observes
each member’s bookmarks and profile so that it can then recommend
similar content from within the PeerClip community.
"PeerClip is designed to be simple to use while still providing
powerful tools that make online health care information more accessible,
improve the quality of search results, and create an environment
where physician peers can interact effortlessly,” said Steve
Swedler, director of new media for ConnectivHealth. “Also,
through our proprietary recommendation algorithm, pertinent information
finds the physician instead of waiting to be found.”
To maximize the peer connectivity that PeerClip offers, physicians
are required to use their real names within the community. PeerClip
is a secure, private community for physicians and does not allow
sponsors nor advertisers access to any personally identifiable
data or bookmarks.
